A theoretical-practical course for guides and tourism operators

Welcoming tourists with specific needs is not just a duty, but also an opportunity to offer truly inclusive quality experiences.

The course Managing Tourists with Disabilities is designed to provide concrete tools for tour guides, escorts, nature guides, and industry operators, helping them to ensure a professional, safe, and respectful welcome that meets diverse needs.

Course structure

The course lasts for 5 hours and will take place on Thursday, 18th September during Accessibility for Future 2025.

The programme is divided into 4 thematic modules, each dedicated to a specific type of disability and conducted by qualified experts:

  1. Tourists with mobility disabilities 
    Lecturer: Laura Scrivere, Occupational Therapist
  2. Tourists with hearing disabilities 
    Teacher: Nadia Pers, LIS Interpreter
  3. Tourists with visual impairments 
    Teacher: Lorenza Vettor, ANFAMIV
  4. Tourists with intellectual disabilities 
    Teacher: Maria Cristina Schiratti, ANFFAS

The course combines theory and practice, with moments of direct comparison and activities that allow participants to step into the shoes of tourists with disabilities, gaining greater awareness and empathy.

Credit points

The nature guides registered with AIGAE will obtain training credits recognised by the association.

Costs and benefits

  • Registration fee: € 100 (VAT included)
  • Reduced fee: € 75 (VAT included) for AIGAE members or IO CI VADO aps
